Jennifer Favela, MS, CCC-SLP/L is a Latina mother, Spanish-speaking pediatric speech-language pathologist, and founder of Soy Bilingual Speech Therapy. She is skilled in bilingual speech-language assessment and treatment in culturally and linguistically diverse populations, but primarily handles the day-to-day operations of the clinic. Additionally, Jennifer collaborates with school districts to provide comprehensive speech-language evaluations, administers third-party evaluations for legal councils participating in Due Process, and is an adjunct clinical supervisor in one of Chicago’s Communication Science and Disorders masters programs. She presented at the 2024 Illinois Speech Language Association Convention and is frequently invited to be a guest speaker for undergraduate level, graduate level, and professional forums.
Jennifer received her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Elmhurst University and her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Saint Xavier University. She has several years’ experience working with the pediatric population in school and outpatient settings. In 2018, Jennifer led the development of a new pediatric outpatient rehabilitation department at a community-based hospital within one of Chicago’s leading health systems. This experience inspired Jennifer to launch a pediatric private practice to serve the community that is closest to her heart- the Spanish-speaking families of Berwyn, Cicero, and surrounding townships.
Jennifer holds Illinois licensure and is accredited by the American Speech-Language Hearing Association. She holds an Illinois Professional Educator License in Speech-Language Pathology and a Bilingual Approval-Spanish through the Illinois State Board of Education.
